‘Yantraang-2013’, the two-day event organised by the mechanical engineering department of Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Sciences (KITS) here, brought together students and academics.
Inaugurating the event, A. Dayananda Reddy, managing director of Vasantha Tool Crafts Private Limited, Hyderabad, who belongs to the first batch of the college, urged students to dream and work to realise their dreams. “A student needs to have many skills to succeed in the present day competitive environment,” he said.
Head of the department, K. Guru Raj, said about 400 participants from Pondicherry, Chennai, Bangalore, Bihar and Hyderabad had arrived on campus to take part in events such as robo wars, robo race, robo soccer, aqua drive and rocketrix. Faculty coordinator P.S.S. Murthy said the symposium papers and technical events cover a wide range of subjects, which claim to be the organs of the body of mechanical engineering.

The Government Women’s Degree and Post Graduate College in Karimnagar town has won four first prizes in the “Yuvatharangam”, an initiative to create excellence in higher education, by the Commissioner of College Education recently in Hyderabad.
The College bagged the State best women empowerment cell in recognition of its activities for the welfare of women students.
