‘Smart’ way to track child’s status in schools
Hyderabad-based service provider Smart Attendance showcased their product portfolio comprising smart card-based school attendance management system, here on Monday.
Addressing the media, members of managements from various schools and others, company representative Mohammed Faiz said that the smart card-based attendance was based on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technique that works on customised hardware and software solutions. “The cards can be synchronised with GPS, GPRS, VSAT, Radio Frequency and satellite technology,” he said.
Giving details on the working of the technology, Mr. Faiz said that it was based on Indo-German technology and monitored by a cloud set-up on 24-hour basis.
Ms. Karam, who claimed to be a facilitator of Smart Attendance, said that the system was designed keeping in mind the security of the child. “The moment the card is read by the offline reader at the school or school bus, a SMS reaches the parent, giving the status and location of the child,” she said.
Mr. Faiz further pointed out that the attendance system could be customised and modified to suit the requirement. “We can also include biometric system and tracking mechanism into it. Moreover, apart from attendance, the system can be integrated to give the parents a complete overview of the child’s status and progress in schools, including updates on homework and class tests,” he said.
