National NSS meet from today
Andhra University is hosting a 10-day Inter-State Youth Exchange and Home Stay Programme being organised by the NSS Regional Office and Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development from Wednesday, Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju said.
Addressing media here on Tuesday, the Vice-Chancellor said that the youth exchange and home stay programme was being conducted to integrate the culture and youth of the nation by assembling NSS volunteers from different states of India.
He said 120 NSS volunteers representing Gujarat, Rajasthan, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Sikkim, Mizoram, Nagaland, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura would participate in the programme. The volunteers would be able to exchange their ideas, share their experiences and understand various cultures and customs at the programme.
During the exchange programme there would be intellectual sessions, cultural programmes, rally, exposure visits to industries and historical places and home stay. As part of the programme the local volunteers would invite out station volunteers to their houses and provide food and accommodation for them. University Registrar K Ramamohana Rao, University NSS coordinator N.A.D. Paul and others were present.
