JNTUK to open incubation centre
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) in association with Godavari Knowledge Society (GKS) is opening an ‘incubation centre’ to promote marine and agriculture biotechnology on Thursday.
The university is signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the private firm to this effect, which is going to be the first public-private initiative to develop the incubation centre. Former Chief Secretary to the government of Andhra Pradesh Mohan Kanda, former additional Chief Secretary to the government of Andhra Pradesh M. Gopalakrishna, Collector Neetu Prasad, JNTUK Vice-Chancellor G. Tulasi Ram Das and NABARD former Managing Director P.V.A. Rama Rao and others will participate in the event.
GKS working president and secretary Srinivas Kakarla and M.S. Shankara Prasad respectively, at a press conference here on Wednesday, said that the incubation centre would become a win-win to both JNTUK and GKS and it would work for the benefit of the local farmers and fishermen. The outcome of the centre would help the peasantry and the fisher folk to get value addition on their produce, they explained.
