Nine APSWREI students make it to IIT
The Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Residential Education Institutions (APSWREI) Society students continued their good academic performance with nine of them managing to get into Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) for the academic year 2013-14, a press release stated.
The nine students who made it to IITs this academic year include Cheekati Rakesh Babu (IIT Delhi), Sydhala Pavan (IIT Kanpur), Vangoori Prashanth (IIT Kanpur), Devathi Prashanth (IIT Kanpur), Panthagani Midhun Kumar (ISM Dhanbad), Vithulamudi Sanjeev Babu (IIT Kanpur), Ramtenki Sudhakar (IIT Kharagpur), Gaini Sailu (IIT Bombay) and Barmavath Prashanth (IIT Roorkee).
Laptops distributed
Minister of Social Welfare Pithani Satyanarayana met the nine students, who succeeded in cracking the IIT JEE entrance examination, and distributed laptops. So far, since 1998 when the society introduced IIT coaching to the talented but needy children, 87 students from APSREI have joined IIT and 121 students in National Institute of Technologies (NIT), Secretary, APSWREI, R. S. Praveen Kumar, said. The Minister congratulated the students and also interacted with the teachers.
