Seminar on GPS
The Department of ECE at Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) organised an AICTE sponsored two-day National Seminar on “GPS and its Augmentation Systems – GAGAN for Aircraft Navigation” on November 22 and 23.
The seminar was inaugurated by B.M. Reddy, senior scientist from NGRI, Hyderabad.
Delivering the key note speech about the role of young engineers, scientists and academicians in the fields of research and development, and science and technology Dr. Reddy highlighted the importance of Indian Satellite based navigation systems, GPS Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) and IRNSS for Aircraft Navigation.
He also spoke about the present status of such systems in India and world wide and also the advances which are to be expected in days to come.
Adressing the students, V. Mala Konda Reddy, President – CBIT Society, spoke about knowledge, teaching and continuous learning process of a ‘GURU’.
A total of eight sessions were conducted by professionals during the two-day seminar. A large number of academicians, scientists and students from across the country participated in the program, a press release said.
