Children’s festival for school students

Sri Rama Charitable Trust, Sriramapuram, will be organising a three-day children’s festival for school students in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts on December 12, 13 and 14.

The objective of the festival is to revive the dying cultural traditions and activities, said the chairman of the trust T. Subba Rao in a press release.

Competitions

During the ‘Children’s Festival 2013’, various competitions and creative and cultural events will be held. The festival is open for students in three categories – sub-juniors (nursery to class IV), juniors (class V to VII) and seniors (class VIII to class X). Students interested in participating in the competitions are required to bring a letter from their respective heads of schools. There is no entry fee and participants must register their names by December 5.

On December 12 during the morning session, drawing and painting competitions will be held. In the afternoon session, competitions in Telugu poem recitation and fancy dress will be conducted. Essay writing, folk and traditional dance and drama competitions will be held on December 13. The concluding day of the festival will see competitions like elocution, Telugu song rendition, general knowledge and writing skills test. All-round championship trophy and cash awards will be given to the best performing schools.
