10,000 for 10K Run on Nov. 24
The 12th edition of the annual Hyderabad 10K Run, to be organised on November 24, will help raise funds for charity through the United Way of Hyderabad organisation, according to Uma Chigurapati, chairperson of Hyderabad 10K Foundation.
About 10,000 participants are expected to take part in the Run to be flagged from People’s Plaza on the Necklace Road. It will traverse through NTR Gardens, Lumbini Park, encircle the Hussain Sagar Lake and finish at the starting point.
“Last time we raised Rs. 37.52 lakh for charity. We are optimistic of a bigger response this time around too,” an official of 10K Foundation said.
“We are expecting about 2000 in the age group of under-25 years, many more from the corporate groups and also a few from abroad,” Ms. Chigurupati said.
Badminton star Pullela Gopi Chand, while announcing his participation, said that the 10K Run would be flagged off at 6 a.m. “We are all glad that the 10K Run has become a big hit with Hyderabadis and looking for a huge response this time too,” he said.
Registrations can be done by visitingwww.hyderabad10.comand offline registrations are at Prasad IMax and Rachanotsav office in Banjara Hills before November 23.
