The convocation of the students of Gayatri Vidya Parishad Degree and PG College (Autonomous) who passed out in 2011 is being held here on Saturday evening.
Students who graduated in 2011, both graduate and post graduate, will be receiving their degrees from Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju at a function being organised at the GVP Technical Campus at Rushikonda. Former president of Gayatri Vidya Parishad and former Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University B. Swamy is scheduled to be felicitated on the occasion, secretary and correspondent of the College D. Dakshinamurthy told the media here on Friday.
The second batch of undergraduate students and the first batch of post graduate students would be getting their degrees at the college convocation. Out of the 365 graduate and 243 PG students who graduated from the college some 400 students are expected to attend the convocation to receive their degree, College principal M F Rahiman said. The candidates who are coming to receive their PG degrees have compulsorily carry their earlier degree certificate in original for verification. Any minor error in name could result in problems during visa processing and or getting employment, he explained.
Member Gayatri Vidya Parishad P. Rajaganapathi, professor S. Rajani, controller of examinations M. V. Ramanamurthy were present on the occasion.
