National meet to focus on ‘green technologies’
St. Joseph’s College for Women will organise a two-day national conference on ‘Green technologies’ on November 8 and 9.

The UGC-sponsored conference, being organised in collaboration with Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, will focus on green technologies for industries, agriculture, transportation, computing and on safe storage and applications of nuclear energy.
N.R. Jeevan Babu, organising secretary and Head of the Department of French of the college, and K. Radhakrishna, conference convener and HoD of Physics, have said that about 100 delegates will participate and 40 papers have been short-listed for presentation.
Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju will deliver the key-note address and VSP Executive Director (operations) D.N. Rao will inaugurate the conference.
A three-member working committee, comprising D.A. Ramani, HoD of Office Management, Y. Thomas Raju, senior lecturer in computer science, and A. Mary Vijayaratna, lecturer in physics, has been formed for the conduct of the conference which will be anchored by K. Manikya Kumari, senior lecturer in the Department of Botany.
