IGNOU admissions commence


Admissions into the masters, degree, PG diploma, diploma, certificate and awareness programmes of January 2014 session of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has commenced, its Regional Director S. Raja Rao informed in a press release on Thursday.

Admissions are open till December 16 and applications are accepted till December 31 with a late fee of Rs. 500.

IGNOU is offering more than 15 masters programmes; more than 10 disciplines at the degree-level; many job-oriented diploma and certificate programmes and its 10 law programmes are taught through an exclusive study centre at Damodaram Sanjeevayya National Law University here, Dr. Raja Rao said. There is no entrance test for MCA in IGNOU, he added.

Candidates residing in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari districts can apply for admission into its courses.

The common prospectus is available at IGNOU Regional Centre at Ushodaya Junction, MVP Colony, here and at the IGNOU Study Centres located in Dr. L. Bullayya College, Visakhapatnam; Ideal College, Kakinada; DNR College, Bhimavaram and MR Post Graduate College, Vizianagaram,

The cost of prospectus is Rs.150 at the counter and it can be obtained by post by sending demand draft for Rs. 200 drawn in favour of IGNOU, payable at Visakhapatnam.

The last date for submission of assignments for students who are appearing for examinations in December has been extended up to November 15.
