Jnanpeeth award winner Ravuri Bharadwaj- memorised

A number of literary organisations and eminent persons from the city have condoled the death of noted writer and Jnanpeeth award winner Ravuri Bharadwaj.

Sahiti Sravanthi secretary M. Srinivasa Rao noted that Ravuri had started his literary journey at the age of 17. He had written over 500 stories, 37 compilations, 19 novels and 13 plays.

He described the death of Ravuri as a ‘void which cannot be filled in the Telugu literary world’. He expressed sympathies to the bereaved family members of Ravuri on behalf of Sahiti Sravanthi.

Uttarandhra Journalists Front Visakhapatnam district president Varma and secretary N. Nageswara Rao recalled the free-wheeling interaction the litterateur had with city journalists during his last visit to the City and said that the memory would stay fresh forever in their hearts. They expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.

The AP Working Journalists’ Federation (APWJF) has condoled the death of Ravuri. In a statement, APWJF president P. Narayan and State secretary G. Srinu Babu noted that apart from being a writer, Ravuri had also worked as a journalist. Indian Society for Cultural Cooperation and Friendship is organising a meeting to condole the death of Ravuri at the Visakhapatnam Public Library at Dwarakanagar on Sunday.
