Gitam students have their own portal

Created by students of HBS, ‘AppneAdda.com’ serves as a space for the varsity’s students to share ideas about various issues affecting them

‘AppneAdda.com’, a portal created as an online corner for students on the college campuses of GITAM University, was launched here on December 20 by Dean and Director of HBS, Prof. S.S. Prasada Rao. The portal was made by five MBA students from the varsity’s Hyderabad Business School (HBS).

The project, a brainchild of Vinodh Kumar, Sai Krishna, Srinivas Srujana, Arun, and Jayaprakash, was presented at national-level business idea contest held at Nirma University, Ahmedabad, earlier this month.

Costing Rs.16,000, ‘AppneAdda.com’ serves as a space for the varsity’s on-campus students to share ideas about various issues affecting them, and provides a forum for them to discuss issues ranging from rating the menu items in the canteens to sharing ideas for activities, said Vinodh, the CEO of the venture.

The five students also plan to generate income from the website through advertisements by attracting vendors of educational services, targeting professional students.

A future plan to create a mobile application for ‘AppneAdda.com’ is also on the cards.
